SPV's Co-Founder Mr. Alfred Lin and COO Mr. Andre Lin attended the Industry Engagement Day Plus: Transformation to Edge AI 2.0, organized by the HKUST Office of Knowledge Transfer and co‑organized by the AI Chip Center for Emerging Smart Systems (ACCESS). The seminar explored the next phase of Edge AI’s evolution in data processing and analysis, bringing together industry experts and innovators to share the latest technological developments and applications.

As an early stage venture investment firm investing across the spectrum of semiconductors and artificial intelligence, we were particularly interested in deepening our understanding of how Edge AI 2.0 is shaping system architecture, deployment efficiency, and real‑world use cases. In particular, it is astonishing to know that data transfer and storage requires more energy than the actual computation in many modern computing systems, especially in AI and high performance computing scenarios.

Through keynote speeches, industry sharing and technology showcases, the seminar offered valuable insights into cutting‑edge Edge AI solutions and emerging applications. It also underscored the importance of cross‑sector collaboration and knowledge exchange in accelerating Edge AI adoption.
