SPV at HKUST Unicorn Day 2024: Where Deep Tech Meets Global Ambition
Speedpixel Ventures were pleased to attend HKUST Unicorn Day 2024, an annual flagship event that brings together innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem partners from Hong Kong and beyond. Held on 31 May 2024, this year’s Unicorn Day showcased over 100 deep tech innovations across AI, healthcare, sustainability and biomedical that are all developed within the HKUST ecosystem. The event attracted over 1,000 distinguished guests with a full-day program of activities included a symposium, investment dialogue, pitching sessions, and networking opportunities designed to connect HKUST‑grown entrepreneurs with potential investors and strategic partners.
As an early stage venture investment firm focused on technology and innovation, we see HKUST Unicorn Day 2024 as more than a showcase—it is a window into the future pipeline of deep tech companies emerging from one of Asia’s leading research universities. The breadth of technologies on display provided valuable insight into how university‑driven R&D continues to shape the next generation of scalable, venture‑backed companies.
