Continuing from last year’s success, HKSTP hosted the Elevator Pitch Competition for the second time. Similarly, 100 start-ups will be selected to pitch their ideas in a 60-second elevator ride at Sky100 at the International Commerce Centre (“ICC”). For the 10 finalists, there will be given a three-minute pitching opportunity on stage to compete for USD$120,000!

Patrick Lin, our Co-founder and CEO, participated as one of the investor judges on the panel and they chose Cathay Photonics as the champion for 2017. Cathay Photonics, a Hong Kong based company, pioneered a patented technology “Sapphire Thin Film Coated Substrate” which is a hard surface anti-scratch coating. It has a wide range of applications including on mobile phone, traditional & smart watches, flexible display and more.
