SPV witnessed a remarkable surge in the Web3 space
Three eventful Blockchain Web3 conferences took place from March to May -- WOW Summit (March 26 - 27), WEB3 Festival (April 6 - 9) and Bitcoin Asia (May 9 - 10).
Major topics discussed focus on the evolving Web3, virtual asset ecosystem and investment in Asia, technical development of various main chains and regulation & policy outlook. With Hong Kong's recent launch of spot Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) exchange traded funds (ETFs), the overall sentiment showed confidence in Hong Kong's long term commitment to Web3 development and becoming a regional hub. We witnessed a surge of interest in this space drawing a strong attendance in all three conferences.
Key Takeaways:
Regulation and policy were central themes, including discussions on the future of virtual assets in Asia, regulatory clarity, and balancing innovation with investor protection. Highlighting the need to balance security, compliance, and user convenience, reflecting ongoing industry challenges.
Technical sessions explored blockchain scalability and infrastructure; how to make blockchain technology more user‑friendly, including tooling, APIs, and ecosystem expansion strategies in Asia.
Stablecoin received dedicated attention, particularly their role and adoption prospects within Asian markets.
The intersection of Crypto and AI was discussed, emphasizing verification, trust, and emerging use cases rather than blind adoption.
