Virtual Assets, Blockchain Web3, and AI in Focus
The SPV team attended Hong Kong FinTech Week 2023, one of the region’s flagship fintech events, co‑organised by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and Invest Hong Kong. Under the theme “Fintech Redefined,” the conference highlighted how virtual assets, Web3 & blockchain technologies, and artificial intelligence are increasingly shaping the future of financial services.
Discussions on virtual assets and Web3 focused on tokenisation, distributed ledger technology, and the development of practical Web3 applications. Regulators and industry leaders shared insights on expanding tokenised financial instruments, including ongoing exploration of tokenised government green bonds and the broader regulatory framework supporting digital asset innovation.
AI development was another central theme, with speakers highlighting the rapid adoption of generative AI and its transformative impact on fintech and financial services. Sessions emphasized AI’s role in improving productivity, decision‑making, and real‑world applications across the financial ecosystem.
Overall, the conference reinforced our view that the convergence of AI, blockchain Web3, and virtual assets not only will shape the future of financial services but also creating many opportunities for investors focused on scalable, technology‑driven financial platforms.
